Do u ever regret letting someone u love.... go ? 🤔 💔

Like an old flame.
Or an old friend.
An ex lover.
A former bestie.

You think about all the good and bad times you had. What qualities you liked along with the ones you dislike.
Their ways. Their personality. Their words.
You probably miss them sometimes. You probably wish they were still here. Do you or have you regretted letting someone go in your life at all. Best answer wins. ☺️

lovelychicadee · 46-50, F
I do. I was casually dating two men at once. One I decided to pursue a committed relationship with. I spent almost a decade with him. Unfulfilled promises, many regrets in giving him way too much time. The man I let go moved up in his career, had a family and divorced. I still can’t help but think we would of been happy together. However I realize wondering about what if’s never does any good.

@lovelychicadee Yes i had a nice g/f that we broke up with,and i know she got married and divorced after about 4 years only..I wonder if she had made the choice for me,she would have been better off.
riseofthemachine · 41-45, M
People let go of me cery easily , but i never left go of people , especially what way they are cause if and some do have mental health issues and if they commit suicide or something like that I'd prefer the pain of putting up with them at times , than the pain like saying to myself if they commit suicide, could i have done something for them .
I wouldn't want to be carrying around that thought with me for the rest of my life .
I never let go of someone in my life .
My ex left me on bad terms , 13 years later gone , my head can be still wrecked over it . Thats just one person .
I done nothing wrong in that relationship and i used to be the one to try sort out the bitterness and the bad way we broke up .
I done nothing wrong in it and my head be still wrecked from it .
That's letting go
Montanaman · M
@riseofthemachine Bless you 🤗🤗

@Montanaman Thanks 😊😊

@riseofthemachine you're so welcome

She was a daughter to me. Not just a daughter in law. I love her and miss her, but she made her choices. In the process, she destroyed 2 families. And forever damaged her two Littles. 💔
So letting her go...
There's sadness and regret.
But it's inevitable.

No, I never let go of people I care about easily!
Zonuss · 41-45, M
DaughteroftheMoon · 26-30, F
@Zonuss See what?
Zonuss · 41-45, M
[@DaughteroftheMoonsal] Nothing. I'm just saying I see what you're saying.
Littlewing · 36-40, F
Yes one good friend i made on EP. We would communicate daily through email and talk on the phone often. We knew each other for nine months but i decided to end it because they became too intense and i got sick. I regret letting them go all the time and wonder how far we would have gotten if we had stayed in touch. I have no idea where they are now.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Littlewing Hmmmmmm. 🤔
Wiseacre · F
No, anybody i ever let go, was a misfit, so no regret!
RubySoo · 56-60, F
Ive found it very hard to let go of anyone over the years, and often tried to hang on for dear life when there was nothing left to hold on to. It hurts and i didnt ever handle it well. But, once its done and im out the other side, the regret was always that i didnt let go soon, and id ask myself why i wasted so much time an energy.
In recent years, its gotten easier to jyst let things slide. If its done its done....no regrets.
SW-User
@RubySoo You're lucky/gifted/blessed in this sense - you can finally let all of it go. I can't eliminate any wrong or missed opportunity from my mind. All my best memories are of the what-should've-been.
RubySoo · 56-60, F
@SW-User oh believe me, i felt like you my whole life, until very recently. I refused to toughen up. Ive always been soft hearted, forgiving and believed live lasts forever. I liked being that way..

This last 6 years or so ive learned so much about friendships, relationships, and how and why people treat each other how they do. Ive learned the hard way, but.....i have learned. If people dont want me around....it really is their loss.
I wont beg anyone to stay ever again.
SW-User
@RubySoo Bottom line - I'm in no way religious but what would Jesus do? What price your soul? Be yourself or become as those you are not?
SW-User
I didn't let him go. Cuz i never had him. He was always free to leave me. And he did.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@SW-User It's best to have this attitude.

I never trust a person to stay. I assume they will betray me and I am never disappointed. 😉
SW-User
@GeistInTheMachine in my case it was an online affair. And even tho he made lotta promises and told me lotta lies he justified it cuz it was online. He didn't care that I'm a real person. So fuck him. Now i don't care either.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@SW-User Yeah, online rarely works. I've learned my lesson. Not saying it can't, just saying that relationships and people are already awful, and online adds a ton to the bad end of the scale.

Then kaput - relationship over.
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
Drifted apart, grew in different directions, started a new chapter but I don't know about letting go.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
wonkywinky · 51-55, M
Yes i accept things like break ups,but all i hope is any girl i once knew and met with had fun and maybe even slept together,no matter what she is up to,now and then remembers me and nicely.
I cant think how they might hate me,im not like that,so if they just think"Oh him,ohh he was so nice,i wonder how hes going?"
I guess you cant hold everyone you like,but its nice to think someone has nice thoughts of you still.
SW-User
I don't let anyone go without good reason.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Same here.
Thanks for your response.
SW-User
@Zonuss You're welcome.
silentwriter180 · 51-55, F
Most definitely. I think about him every day!
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@silentwriter180 Deep. 🙂✨✨✨
Some people. I had to let them go, it was a matter of survival and sanity. Safety.
One I feel relief not regret. Great sadness at the life and love I had showered upon him. That it was all a game for him.
...I don't usually speak about this person openly, but, why not. Maybe if the Universe hears, some healing could happen.
And he let us go. This is what we had to survive! Afterward when I was stronger, he tried to creep back into my (our) life. No way! I am not your whipping girl or your bank your maid your hooker or your slave. You can go and fk yourself!
There is clearly a lot of pain and rage if I dig. Maybe this is precisely why I choose to not speak of this!

*Others: I had loved them very deeply and so, even though they are now deceased, I will sometimes miss the love we used to share.
For, they were my world💗💔*
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON Things change.
Yes I have regretted letting someone go, I am flawed and there are times I've done things I wish I could fix but can't. All I can say is I am learning from my mistakes and I hope to not repeat them
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SlippingAway Learning from your mistake is best. Happy Holidays.⛄
@Zonuss happy holidays to you
Fairydust · F
No, once I’ve made a decision to let them go, I don’t look back. if they keep hurting me, it might take me some time to come to that decision, it can still hurt and feel like a loss.
I can be brutal that way but it’s more self protection.
My ex just last week decided after 3 years he wanted to talk, begged for me back, it’s just way too late now, he had many last times, the last time was the last time he had to change it.
Said I’ve destroyed his life, he destroyed his own.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Fairydust Deep.
ravenwind43 · 51-55, F
I don't regret it. It was the only thing I could do under the circumstances. I will always remember them though.:)
Yes, he was a kind, caring, intelligent individual. I didn't appreciate him and treated him poorly. I thought he was too soft, and being in my mid 20s, I was looking for a man with a "take charge" personality, one who didn't wear socks with sandals. We parted, the years passed, and eventually someone else snatched him up and married him.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@DreamyCrush That's not what makes a man strong. I do get what you are saying. But a man who values himself and a peace of mind is strong. Not one who is dramatic or too aggressive. Those are usually the babies. ☺️
@Zonuss Yes, many years had passed before I fully understood that.
Carazaa · F
I don't believe in dating. I believe in relationships lasting for life! I believe in sex after marriage. No reason to break up if we choose carefully and work hard on our marriage to love each other. People who sleep with many people have poor morals and should be avoided like the plague!
SW-User
I do miss one person and it was completely my fault. I blame youth and inexperience but I did have a chance to send an apology to her through a friend of hers. I wasn’t hurt she had moved on, she was a really good friend and deserved better than me.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Understood.
LadyJ · F
No..i have no regrets
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Zonuss Coz we both loved but none of us opened up.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
Nah. But they usually do. I don't ditch people. I get ditched, and then they regret it and try to come back, but it usually doesn't work because damage is done. It's funny except it's not, but it kinda is.

I hate people.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@GeistInTheMachine Uh, ok. 🤔
SW-User
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Hello. 😊
LilPrincess · 46-50, F
Oh heavens no
i miss zonuss! 🥺
Starcrossed · 41-45, F
I don't let myself dwell in regret, I work to find what I've learned from a 'regrettable' experience. But no all the people I've let go I've always been glad I did as they were toxic.
JustNik · 51-55, F
I wonder sometimes if it would have been okay to try to keep them, if that’s really what one is supposed to do. Not quite regret…more of a contemplation of it.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@JustNik Contemplation.🙂
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
I do occasionally have regrets then I regain my common sense. I dont walk away from things without careful consideration.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@NeuroticByNature Well said.
NeuroticByNature · 41-45, F
@Zonuss thank you.
val70 · 51-55
Oh yes. I regret things. The big fish that somehow swam away, yes
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@val70 Did you catch another one ? 🙂
val70 · 51-55
@Zonuss Nope, stopped fishing
PoeticPlay · 51-55, M
Nope.
Doesn't mean that I don't love em still.
We just can't be in the same space at the same time.
Ya her name was Disneygryffindorgirl
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@TexasOutlawTrey From SW 🤔
@Zonuss yes
Carazaa · F
No I try hard to keep all my relationships. I have no regrets.
Henal · 26-30, F
No. As sad as it may sound, I can’t say that I do.
Coldplay · 61-69, M
Oh yeah….not easy.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Coldplay Thanks for responding.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
No. Sometimes my husband irritates me but at the end of the day, I know that I have the best partner and I love him so much.
SW-User
Yep. She's my curse.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@SW-User Why do you say this.🤔
SW-User
@Zonuss I wish I knew. She's as right-wing as it gets and I am the opposite. The slightest thing touches her off, but I miss her and, for the life of me, I don't know why.
REMsleep · 41-45, F
No anyone that I have removed from my life was for a good reason... my peace. Some people you miss occasionally but then you remb exactly why you don't have them in your life anymore.
I've had both romantic connections and platonic friends that at one time I considered them like a part of me but now I don't speak to them anymore.
Azlotto · M
Yes, big time.
Zonuss · 41-45, M
@Azlotto Why 🤔

@GeistInTheMachine Yeah. We also banned a few people after that lie.
And it wasn't me. ☺️
