Why only two? Here even a simple warrant for failure to appear gets the utmost attention with a minimum of 12 uniformed officers.

Passed warrants is enough. Though it depends on the type of warrant. Traffic warrants won't do it, where federal warrants most certainly will.

Must say though are you certain they were police? Bounty hunters might look like police.
Bounty hunters do collection detainments and they are often licensed to carry weapons. Police won't do just collections.
