The New York Times is concerned with the bill for the Queen’s funeral.

The annual cost to the British taxpayer for the Royal family is £102.4 million.

The annual cost for operating the White House is £1.2 billion.

The royal family pageantry brings in significant tourist revenue not taken into account in the cost above.

The annual profits of the Crown Estate (the monarch's hereditary possessions) are kept by the government and in most years exceed the sovereign grant paid back to the monarch. So in theory there is no direct cost to the British taxpayer.
