Do you wait for a new year to begin to set goals?

Or, do you prefer to make small and incremental changes throughout the year? It’s the beginning of a New Year, a time when many people reflect on the past year and set goals for the year ahead. Do you make New Year’s resolutions? Or do you find it more helpful to look for opportunities for growth throughout the year? Do you wait for significant events — the New Year, birthdays or the beginning of the school year — to set new goals? Or, do you prefer to make small and incremental changes throughout the year? What are your resolutions for 2022? If you don’t set New Year’s resolutions, what goals or self-improvements are you currently working on, if any?
Do you find it easy or difficult to set goals and achieve them? What usually gets in your way when trying to accomplish a task or develop a new habit? Do you have any strategies for overcoming these obstacles? Abbey Phaneuf, 22, said that every year she feels pressure to make a resolution, but that “she knows that in order to really change her life, she has to want to go deep within; it can’t just be something she is doing because of groupthink.” Do you ever feel pressure, whether from friends, family or social media, to set New Year’s resolutions? Do you find this pressure helpful or distracting? Tell us about a goal you set and accomplished and why you think you were successful at it. Quite a few times now I've had to explain to people that I don't do new years resolutions. My opinion on the matter is: If you want to make positive changes in your life, why wait until new year? Why not start today, right now? Do you recommend setting "new years resolutions"? If so, how can one set goals in a way that does not obsess or self sabotage? There’s a new found excitement at the start of every fresh year. Everyone comes up with a lot of things that they wish to accomplish with their new found motivation and spirits. I have a few as well but these are quite basic ones. Would be great if you could share yours and we can all exchange a few ideas and must-dos for our 2022. The big problem I have with new years resolutions is that, time after time, people fail them (and by 'people' I include myself, since I've tried some in the past), and instead of getting back on track and saying 'well, might as well start again', they just give up completely, and wait until the next new year.

No, I do not. If I am to set goals, I won't wait until a certain time to implement them. For example, if one of my goals is to lose weight and I decide that I want to do that in June, then it makes no sense to wait seven more months to do it.

In my opinion, it's best to set goals and implement them any time of the year.
No. I am a chameleon & so keep changing frequently.
Stay happy.
