The first movie that I ever saw at a movie theater that I consider epic is Lawrence of Arabia. The cinematography and the train scene etc. I didn’t realize how important that was to modern-day history until I learned the true reason for Lawrence’s assignment.
I can definitely understand why you’d say that and honestly if I think of an epic that sticks the landing LOTR is probably the first that comes to mind. But I’d say for rewatchability right now the last 2 Avengers movies made me feel like a kid again in the theater.
