Menetics Me too, I get on wonderfully and amazingly with Aries and Cancer, they're my favorite kind of people. I'm a Virgo/Cancer with Cancer Venus, Cap Rising. My Mom is an Aries/Leo/Scorpio and Dad is Aries/Scorpio/? sister is Aries/Scorpio/? I had a very rough upbringing with them. Not to say it was toxic or too abusive but it was rough, roaring-loud yelling, narcissistic, like hide in my closet rough. I'm now besties with an Aries guy that has Libra Moon and Cap rising like me and Pisces Venus. We get along swimmingly (Pisces Venus?) and he's very gentle, nothing like my parents. I think he's a 3rd Decan Aries as well. I was hesitant at first he grew on me.
I'm a cancer and absolutely adore Aries. I think the cardinal part of me is what connects me to them, the take charge mentality. If there's anything that I could highlight as a negative, it might be that they can drain me a bit, they have never ending energy. But I'm referring to parent child, or friendship relationships. I can definitely see how it could have problems in a romantic relationship
How funny. I’m a cancer with an Aries husband (though he’s much more like his scorpio Moon), and I picked a lot of Aries for friends growing up. Super tough dynamic. I noticed my descendant was Aries meaning that’s why I’m drawn to them. Just a lot of differences more so than similarities. Aries is out in the open and fairly direct with communication it's like this is how it is and that is what's up. Nothing is off limits and they tell it like it is. They like to push boundaries and test limits. They don't back down easily from opposition and they like challenges. Aries doesn't shy away from confrontation either.
Cancer is the exact opposite they are guarded and have a shell which acts as a personal wall. Their communication style is much more indirect. They are very sensitive and they can go silent and expect you to just feel whatever's on their mind. Boundaries are very important to a Cancer as well and they will withdraw if you rub them the wrong way or confront them. The only thing I can think of that Aries and Cancer have in common is they can both be extremely stubborn although in pretty different ways. Aries is more "do it fast or do it my way" kind of stubborn while Cancer is more "follow routine and it's gotta be familiar" kind of stubborn. Cancer can be just as talkative as an Aries is also when they're comfortable.
Aries don't build up their emotions and Cancers have an intuition to follow their feelings and are passive aggressive. Aries always talk about getting stuff done and being productive. Cancers just want to be loved. They are two hugely different signs but the two most emotional in the chart. Aries will do whatever it takes to succeed if they want it so bad. Of course these are just my experiences so these might not even be accurate.
I think they are more similar than it would seem. Both are subjective (view the world based on their values and personal connection), can be emotionally impulsive, and have cardinal tendencies of leading/managing. Angry Aries is more likely to be confrontational, while angry Cancer is more likely to internalize.
I’m an Aries Sun with a Cancer rising. I feel like I come off really shy, sweet, soft-spoken when I meet people but then when they get to know me they realize there is a lot of chaotic energy there that they weren’t expecting!
