Tasmania in the 60's and 70's was primary School, years 1 through 6, High School was 7 through 10. That was me.
Went into 4 years Apprenticeship in the Fitting and Machining Trade.
Lasted 20 years in the Trade. 10 years in a underground Copper Mine on the West Coast of Tasmania.

@Elevatorpitches The same as most underground mines. Dark and wet. On the West Coast of Tasmania at least.
Underground mines are mostly like this. (without the chairlift)

@Gusman Does the stuff fall on your head?

@Elevatorpitches Sometimes it does.
There are many instances around the world where rock falls trap/kill miners.
A major hazard with underground mines. Usually happens when machinery is working on newly dug/blasted areas.
The mine I worked in is closed down now because of miners being killed through a mud slide.
@Gusman sounds like job worthy of a Harrison Ford fantasy adventure movie
