Fairly in depth question about the 2nd (I think) matrix movie....

You will have probably needed to have seen it ar least twice, or at least recently though.....

There's a bit when 2 Operatives (I think that's what the unplugged resistance fighters were called) are fleeing from some kind of pursuit...

One gets to a phone, thus escapes....

His buddy, just behind him, nearly makes it, but Agent Smith comes onto the scene and sort of posseses him....

... Agent Smith is then able to leave the Matrix and walk around Zion with impunity, in a watertight disguise....

... Then he turns up at Neos shitty apartment, knocks the door (which needs a lick of paint, but all of Zion could do with a team of fairly determined interior decorators but whatever that's not important really I guess) and gives him the ear jack thing that Agent Smith likes to wear. (I'm pretty sure it was the ear plug thing, and the symbolism would add up if that's the case)....

... So how was that possible? How did Agent Smith make what is essentially an object that was essentially digital, manifest itself in the real waking world.?

I might be misremembering or missing something here, if that's the case, educate me?

I think because Agent Smith went rogue and became a type of computer virus but one that could infect a human mind in the same way it could infect a computer,
Basically like a virus can spread to a USB memory drive when connected to an infected PC

I always thought it kinda linked to when Smith was talking to and interrogating Morpheus in the first movie

as for the earpiece part,
Smith gave over his earpiece at the start of the 2nd movie while he was still in the Matrix and not in the real world

@Fishy oh shit shit shit shit yeah yeah yeah, I got a little muddled!

But he did turn up at Neos shitty apartment with an object that he'd managed to transfer from the real world right? It might have been a spoon (the one the bald kid bent in the first movie maybe). Agent Smith, disguised as Cain (I think that might have been his name) certainly turned up and gave him something?

Look, Neo is given something smuggled from the Matrix? I'm 100 percent on that much at least. But how can this make sense?

@Jm31xxx I think he gave the spoon to someone else to pass on to Neo as he was just about to board the Nebuchadnezzar.

I'm not sure if it was a spoon actually from the Matrix or if it was just a real world spoon used as a symbolic reference,

I'll probably have to watch to movie again lol 😅

@Fishy yeah, your 1st paragraph makes more sense than what I thought happened....

... So what your saying is, they didn't show the part where Agent Smith sneaked inro Zions kitchens, just to steal a spoon, just so he could pass it on to someone else, just so they could then in turn pass it onto Neo?

The sequence of events would have went something like that?
