I prefer not to have my friends be in same category as sex partners.
I also prefer a real relationship. People can get sex anywhere. It wouldn't work for me. I have to actually be in a real relationship before I consider sex and all that good stuff.

it was awesome. there was a time when I was too free-spirited to have a girlfriend so instead I had a "very good" friend. that went on for about 15 years. now I have a girlfriend so we don't see each other in that way anymore but we're still friends.

A couple of times, once it worked out extremely extremely well, until she found someone to be serious with, and that person was jealous and insecure of my relationship with her and how close we were.

Other times I just worked out all right. Once I accidentally did it with a crazy person, but I didn't realize they were crazy until I started spending a lot more time with them.

Yes, decades ago. Worked out well, until after a year or so when he started to get jealous of one particular guy I was seeing.

I have this friend who has a little brother about my age and we practically grew up together. Long story short, we got drunk one night and had gross drunk sex. We hooked up for a while after that. We stopped randomly but it was a giant secret. It never got weird I think. We still talk now.
