How to deal with DISAPPOINTMENT?

Hey kids...
Today's word of the Day is...

DISAPPOINTMENT

Because life is full of disappointments.
But it is about how we deal with disappointment, right?

Disappointing depending on which side of the fence you are on
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@cherokeepatti Well that’s just it and I think we need to try to look at the other persons side of what happened before we can just focus on our own side of the disappointment

@Jenny1234 I hate that.
So I should just not worry about how I feel about it?

Yes, some things happen that are out of our control...but not everything.

At some point the issue can't just be you (me).

@jaywonder2022 I’m not saying that you should not worry about how you feel of the situation but you should also try to put yourself in the other persons shoes and think about how they feel of the situation.

Yesterday my son went to buy a new cell phone and get a plan and they asked for ID. He had a piece of ID but they also wanted a passport and he’s young and doesn’t understand and it was left that he could not get the phone/plan without the proper ID. He was so disappointed but I reminded him that there are policies and procedures in place that employees have to follow and so they’re not doing it to intentionally disappoint him but he has to understand the reason why they couldn’t Exactly what he wanted or had expected the way it was going to turn out

It is...to a certain extent. BALANCE is a word you would do better to promote. If you are disappointed, BALANCE that with an equal amount of effort to make sure your disappointment doesn't happen again.
Some try the tough love approach by saying simply 'Suck it up, princess'.

Sounds rude at first, but after awhile not only makes sense but a bit funny also

@Disney I hate that approach

Make a new goal and move on one step at a time. Soon the disappointment will be a distant object in the rear view mirror.

We live and learn! It makes us patient and stronger.

@Stereoguy That's how I feel. It is just annoying.
