UK people, do we have all these varients because we did lock down?

What I'm saying is that initially I remember that we were going to do the herd immunity option. People would have been free to take any precautions they want but every where would have been open.....

.... That way, the disease would have burnt through the population a lot quicker and consequently, burnt out a lot quicker. Then it would have had less time to evolve. Then we wouldn't have all these varients.

Anyone have any opinions on this?

This ‘Science’ off the back of a cereal packet ?

‘Herd immunity’ works for stuff like Measles or Chicken Pox.

Not covid

@Picklebobble2 OK citation or anything?

@Picklebobble2 do you have facts to back up your claim?
Jm31xxx · 41-45, M
@Picklebobble2 I mean, what are your credentials?

@Jm31xxx Measles itself requires a 95% vaccination rate before herd immunity is considered probable.

Nobody’s ever tried to vaccinate an entire planet for a virus never before seen in 80% of countries.

So forget scientifically, even logically it’s a bit of a non-starter.

@Jm31xxx @SW-User

You've inadvertently made an excellent point. Those who called for heard immunity had no scientific basis to back their claims.

@EuphoricTurtle how did pandemics die off in the past without the needle?🤔🤔🤔
EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
@SW-User oh ffs, you're not an anti-vaxxer are you?

What past pandemics are you referring to? The black plague that wiped out 30-60% of the european population?
SW-User
@EuphoricTurtle was there a vaccination that ended it? No?
No I’m not an anti vaxxer, and you do realise that COVID vaccines have caused blood clots and killed people right?
I’m against losing the right what we choose what or what not to put in our bodies.
If you are one of those types who thinks vaccines should be mandatory. Then you are no different to a heroin pusher.

You're right, there was no vaccination that ended the black plague. The fact that 200 million people died as a result is just a mere detail I guess.

You're right, people have died possibly due to the vaccine. The fact that it's dozens of people compared to millions who died due to covid is just a mere detail I guess.

As for your right. I'm currently unaware of countries which have made the vaccine mandatory but feel free to correct me if this is the case, and especially if it applies to you.

I personally don't think they should be mandatory at all. But if you could explain the logic behind comparing vaccines with heroin I would greatly appreciate it.

@SW-User Pandemics died out over the course of years, and some of the agents continue to this day. Every year, there are cases of plague in the American southwest. Rodents are known to be carriers.

@EuphoricTurtle what I meant by comparing vaccines to heroin, in case you didn’t understand me clearly. What I said was “if you are one of those people who believe the vaccine should be mandatory, are what I compare to Heroin pushers”. I’m sure I’ve said it pretty clear.
EuphoricTurtle · 41-45, M
@SW-User just repeating what you said doesn't really qualify as explaining your logic.

How is someone who proposes mandatory vaccines equal to heroin pushers?
