I guess it depends on what you're into. I'll give you some cool ones that span a few genres.

Rimworld for PC - You build colonies on planets and manage the people there, you can build cities and make trade caravans etc. Building bases, storytelling, simulator, addictive (I've sank 100s of hours into it over the years), got lots of mods also so you can add to it.

Battlefield V - FPS where you can have up to 64 people and it's basically a war simulator, it has realistic building destruction, you can fly planes and ride in tanks, can be a medic, sniper etc in WW1. It's quite hard but you get better after a few hours, I think they're releasing a new one this year so you can wait for that one if you want.

Hades for PC - Roguelike top-down action/slasher/rpg where you try to escape hell. You get randomised power-ups and its got tactics to it but its really fun and it expands a lot the more you play it. Very addictive.

FF7 remake for consoles - One of the best RPGs/stories ever in my opinion, amazing soundtrack, it's really long and feels epic when you play it. It's not hard and you can play different people. It's realtime combat so it's not turnbased. 10/10. That being said they're releasing an enhanced version called retrograde or intergrade? in a few months, I think so you should wait for that one if you wanna try it.

Resident Evil 2 remake - Horror/survival shooter/puzzles, really fun, awesome story, can play different characters and stories. Shoot zombies etc.

There's a few to look into but ask me if you want more suggestions, my library is ridiculous and I've been a gamer since I was like 7 lol.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Ryannnnnn Omg I love that that's detailed. Thanks a lot :) You're cool.
kayoshin · 41-45, M
If you never games probably start off with something easy like an adventure game (they can be hard to beat but they don't require reflexes nor do they usually asume you have any gaming skill. They are usually story and puzzle driven.). Alternatively try RPG games on easiest settings.
Or simply think what appeals most to you: look through the eyes of a person as you live an adventure, watch as an adventure happens like a movie while following 1 or more characters, roam freely in a virtual world doing stuff, jump and run testing your reflexes in fun world's (like mario and other platformers), pilot a ship or a car, rule a nation or species during peace, rule a nation or species during war, try to run a business, try to run an amusement park or railroad, be the mayor of a city, survive in a horror movie, fight hordes of zombies, stop some kind of apocalypse...
Think about what seems more appealing to you and that will tell you what kind of game might be right for you.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
Well, what kinds of things do you enjoy? Do you like puzzles, stories, action, adventure, etc? Do you like managing things, or being creative? There are a lot of types of games out there, and just recommending one game to represent all video games would be doing a disservice.
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Casheyane You're welcome! I'm always happy to share things I enjoy!
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@FaeLuna What's your ultimate fav that you can play in PC?
FaeLuna · 31-35, F
@Casheyane That is such a tough question to answer... I guess it really depends on the mood I'm in. Like, I tend to go through cycles of which games I'm really into. If we just go off of total hours played, probably something like Skyrim. If we go by games I always have installed to play at a moments notice, Heroes of Might and Magic III. Or Warcraft 3. I do love that game.
wackidywack · 26-30
Maybe something basic and good like Super Mario
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@wackidywack I used to play with that. Yeah, that was fun actually. Haven't tried the mario kart though.
wackidywack · 26-30
@Casheyane is it accessible for you ? I hear it's fun but i haven't tried Mario kart yet
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@wackidywack If I want it enough, then yeah it is. The rainbow road makes me curious XD

Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Jabulani Thanks for the suggestion. You play it individual or by team?
@Casheyane anytime. playing individually(:
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Jabulani Jumps to the top 3 on my list. Gorgeous.
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
I’d be asking so many things first do you have a console in mind or are you planning to pc game?

Are there any board games or card games you’ve played that you actually enjoyed?

Are you into tv series like americas next top model? Or shows about pets? What is your television or reading taste like?

Are you looking for a more social gaming experience or one you can enjoy by yourself?

Is it the actual gameplay you may be interested in or more the world building and the story?
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
@Casheyane my recommendation for you is the borderlands series and xcom 2.. 😷
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@AuRevoir Thanks for the suggestions. You okay?
AuRevoir · 36-40, M
@Casheyane not really..
SolGryn · 31-35, M
World of warcraft is great if you have someone to play with. Exploring the world for the first time is so exciting
SolGryn · 31-35, M
@FaeLuna yes the first 20 are free. Seeing people get excited about going somewhere or seeing something for the first time makes me smile
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@SolGryn That actually sounds nice.
SolGryn · 31-35, M
@Casheyane I'm glad I could help :)
Graylight · 51-55, F
I've been wanting The Journey forever. I like gaming once in a while but hate all the war/crime/fighting games.

It'll depend on you're gaming system. Unsolicited advice, but I think PlayStation is a clear console winner. But you don't even need one for other cool gaming.

I'd say don't do it. They suck you in and your time and productivity goes down. They are designed to be addictive.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@SW-User I'm the kind of girl who calls reading addictive. It's more like I'll add gaming to the list of 'other' stuff to do when I'm bored.

But thanks for the advice :)
SW-User
@Casheyane Reading is productive, but gaming takes over everything if you get caught up in the wrong groups. I'd day if you still wanna try, try something that doesn't involve online gamers or alliances. Try Uncharted. It as 4 seasons.
It depends on what kind of game you want to play or what world you want to simulate

I would say Minecraft is probably the first pick if you want a calm game with goals you can work towards and lots of available modifications to add new objectives and goals
@Casheyane Spyro's Trilogy Reignited is a good one in that case 👀
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
@TheBlackPowerRanger See I find 7 days to die a better version of Minecraft because I feel Minecraft gets pointless after a while. 7 days is basically Minecraft but you have to prepare and build for zombie hordes, Minecraft doesn't have any motivation I think.
@Ryannnnnn true dat tbh
testbutton · 51-55, M
warcraft would probably be a good match for you
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
Try this. It's a blend of mystery and horror.

probably something that's quick to play and fun on the phone. a lot of people like games like candy crush and words with friends.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@SW-User Those get boring for me. But thanks :)
SW-User
@Casheyane no probs. a lot of people new to games usually go through those first before they get into more serious gaming. good luck.

Crash Bandicoot
Alfarrobas · 31-35, M
Do you have any type in mind? A shooter? Strategy? Building?
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@Alfarrobas Wow. Nobody's ever called me that for a long time now haha. Sure Mr. Alfarrobas. :)

basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
Hmm...if you're after good story, set it to easy and play The Witcher or try Skyrim.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
You should be fine with most fantasy games. Just stay away from competitive games like Dota2. It's a great game, but really difficult and the community can be toxic. Unless you want to be sworn at in Russian for an hour, avoid games like Dota2, League of Legends, etc.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@basilfawlty89 Ahh. So it's the game culture then.
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Casheyane oh yeah, Dota is toxic. Sadly a lot of competitive gaming is toxic, but Dota and LoL are some of the most toxic communities.
Casheyane · 31-35, F
@basilfawlty89 Ahh. I think I'll remember that. Thanks for the advice.
