I have to seclect a book has to be something that interests me and the sort of story i like.

I have to be interested in the subject. Then by about 20 pages in I know if i will finish it or not. Even if it’s a bestseller like The Road for example. After the first 15 pages or so,I knew i will never pick it up again

@SW-User i really enjoyed the road. it was a quick read

@DoubleRings I didn’t like the writing

@SW-User The dialog between father son was a bit annoying but there was no unnecessary overwritten descriptions of anything. everything was to the point. i skip skip skip when authors include too many details about things that aren’t plot changing.
In a pinch, I'll read the label on a bottle.

I cannot pick up a book and just read it. I fall asleep in moments.

The Bible has been my only successful read. (The only book I have actually read all the way through)*not in one session mind you*

I went through a phase where I would go to the library, pick a shelf and just grab a book and start reading.
Lots of hits, some misses.
I would kind of cheat though and go through the fiction area, which is what I mainly read.

Now, I look at the cover, the title, the plot summary, the author, the reviews, most everything before deciding on reading it.

My brain is very choosy about what it finds intriguing.

I'm picky when it comes to books.

I used to be like that, but I have become very picky when it's time to select a new book to read. I have also accepted that just because you started a book isn't a good reason to finish it if you don't enjoy it.
I tend to try to focus my reading a little; I only get through so many books.
When I was a kid I enjoyed reading for the sake of reading and could do that more readily. Now it has to be a topic that really interests me or I won’t stay engrossed.
