Do you still love your first love?

I’ll be honest I really didn’t think I did but something in me still feels something even after almost 25 years. I’ve def moved on but there’s something familiar there.

I always think about him fondly.
No sooner had we started seeing each other, when his family moved away from the area. It was a real wrench for both of us 🥺

@DoubleRings
It was heart-breaking at the time...

@Moonpenny for me too. It was the hardest summer. I didn’t want to go back to school cause he was so far away and there was no one to fill my days and I knew he wouldn’t ever come back. Well, he did visit ... we were off and on for many years after but it was impossible to keep a steady thing going. His moving away really left me reeling.

@DoubleRings Aww, that's hard.
My friend moved from one of the country to the other. We never saw each other again.

I found out mine had cancer a few years ago, thank goodness he survived, I think about him and his family and hope all is good but its not love anymore

Of course. He'll always have a special place in my heart and I'll always love the memories we had, but I prefer to leave him there.

I’ll always love what I loved, but it just distracted me from the rest of him. In the end, I dodged a bullet.

I have great affection for him and that chemistry is still there when I see him, 40 years later.
DoubleRings · 51-55, F
@Magenta This is a good way to describe it yes.
Magenta · F
@DoubleRings Thanks. He is a special man. ☺️
No it does the opposite for me. It makes me feel depressed remembering things from the past. So I never think about past loves. Not worth my time.

That was a long time ago, we were just 15 yo kids at that time so we were best friends ... nothing serious but yeh I loved him ☺️

I never miss him but I always wish him well.

I would never change the fact I spent 5 years with him... they were 5 good years 🙂

I would say no. But there is a special place in my heart for her.
