My boss acted weird when I took 2 days off to get my respiratory issues dealt with. I had to have doctors' appointments by phone after typing and faxing letters to the doctor's office about symptoms and when my last cough was (too long ago to qualify for covid testing).

I got 2 prescriptions faxed to my nearest pharmacy and filled within the hour. Very efficient.

I hope you don't have it. I think your boss is probably being avoidant because he's scared.

I can’t imagine this effecting you job wise if the business doesn’t go under itself. I would think you’d have a field day going after them for wrongful termination.
