@Crazychick We used to play Purple Rain in a covers band I was in. I remember a discussion one day about the lyrics and the singer made the judgement day reference and linked it to 1999 too. He was a big fan so I don't doubt he was right.

@Northerner I've heard the Waterboys, I wouldn't go mad over them but I've heard worse. I've heard "The Whole Of The Moon" and "Fisherman's Blues" but not their version of "Purple Rain".
