What Black Lives Matter has done in less then two weeks.

Trump ordered the National Gaurd to fall back because the show up has been too big. More protest are being planned.

Amazon, Airbnb, Apple, Coca-Cola, Facebook, Nike, Uber, YouTube, The Pokémon International Company and many more companies have donated money to Black Lives Matter totally up to millions of dollars.

All four cops involved with the murder of George Floyd are being charged.

Minneapolis banned chokeholds.

150 million dollars was diverted from the Los Angeles Police Department.

The city of Washington D.C has painted BLACK LIVES MATTER in big yellow letters on the street leading up to the White House. They also renamed the street Black Lives Matter.

Celebrites such BTS, Ryan Reynolds, Michael Jordan, Leonardo Dicaprio, Angelina Jolie, Kayne West, Drake, The Weekend, Chrissy Teigen, Blake Lively, Seth Rogan and Steve Carell have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the movements. If I named all the celebrities I'd be going on for a while so I'll stop it.

The NFL issued a statement saying it was wrong to censure players who protested police violence.

57 offices have resigned from the New York Police Department.

Donald Trump called in construction to build a wall around The White House. He is afraid.

The fight in America sparked inspiration into other parts of the world. 19 countries in 6 continents are protesting along with us.

Edit 1: A veto-proof majority of the Minneapolis city council has announced its intent to dismantle the city’s police departmentand invest in community-led public safety,

Edit 2: NYC has announced it is diverting New York Police Department funding to social services.

Edit 3: The Pokémon International Company released a statement having to do with Black Lives Matter. They are donating 100,000$ to the cause.

Edit 4: A video montage of NASCAR drivers speaking out on recent issues and showing support of the movement was posted on social media before Sunday’s race.

Edit 5: New York State Classifies Use of Chokeholds as Felony

I'm sure I am missing more so please feel free to add on in the comments. Police brutality needs to end. Don't stop fighting for equality. Shout out to the unnamed user who inspired me to make this post by claiming the protest were dying. Honorable mention to the other users wearing MAGA hats that say these protest are useless and are justifying murders. And if you have a problem with this post I suggest watching this video. It might help you feel better.

This is a troll post but I wanted to say these protests have done nothing. They caused riots to happen and people’s businesses and property to be destroyed. It’s created more division and prejudice. They destroyed what progress we were making and that’s my feelings. That’s it.
@Justenjoyit We are on the same page. The police have started murdering and assaulting people in copious amounts. Human lives should not be seen as such disposable little things. Police brutality needs to end.
Funtoy4u · 61-69, M
@Keepitsimple The only thing to come out of this is for the news media to have something to report. And they sensationalize it to incite violence so they have more to report. The masses are their puppets.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@Funtoy4u Yes, nothing to see here everything is fine 🤦‍♂️

Riots. Work.
@SalttyDawg A troll refers to someone who goes out of their way to mess with a person or group of people. A debator is someone who actively participates in discussions or disputes with others. Often, they take the opposite side of the argument and try to get the other to see from their point of view.

You are mixing the two things up. You are both debators.

Burning Looting Murdering is OK then? Yeah. That always sends out the correct message. And I guess it’s OK so long as it isn’t your house or business that’s being looted or burned down. Uh huh. 🙄 @SevIsPamprinYouAlways

Not driving into peaceful protesters yet, though. That’s the Far Right’s territory🙄

B-butt... Oh well, seems someone went wacko over your post. Anywa, it's amazing what has been accomplished this far, but there's still a long way to go to achieve the ultimate goal of equality !

Riots work.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@RedtheEmerald Thanks! Argument helps to bring on people who are willing to hear you out. You can't get allies and more people to your cause without argument and good ideas. What you're posting on here has actual real value. It won't convince those who hate the riots, but it can bring people along who are indifferent and move the needle from indifference to support.

But action in the streets is where political power comes from. You can't give the police the best arguments in the world and expect them to go "Oh my bad".
@CountScrofula You put it in a wonderful way. It won't convince people that don't want to be convinced. In the end it's all about convincing the people who are unsure of the situation. It's about teaching people that it works.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@RedtheEmerald Yeah, and when you're arguing with the chuds on here there's a value in observers seeing what you have to say. Your ideas are better and will win when fairly considered.
The protests need to keep going until there is legislative change to screen out police candidates who are racist, and to make it mandatatory to sack and convict officers for any illegal behaviours. It should never be an option for bosses to condone or forgive abuses of power.
Budwick · 70-79, M
The city of Washington D.C has painted BLACK LIVES MATTER in big yellow letters on the street leading up to the White House.
It's the closest thing to a stick in the eye to the president, the mayor could come up with.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@Budwick Nah... I think cancelling the curfew while he was demanding domination and then renaming that section of 16th as "Black Lives Matter Plaza" is better than the mural.

I suspect she's not done yet.
This is great news, but one thing I worry about is the pandemic. Many protesters are wearing masks, but some aren’t, and there’s no distance. I would hate to see people bring this disease back to loved ones after fighting so hard for civil rights.
@bijouxbroussard I'm aware that in the protest there are medics or sometimes other protestors that will give out mask, hand sanitizer, water and food. It isn't going to stop it from spreading, but I feel like it's better than nothing. The virus will only get worse, but this is something that people feel strongly about. I don't think there's any stop them.
@RedtheEmerald I’m sure there isn’t. So some people are going to literally give their lives for this, beyond whatever happens with the police.

BTS also donated $1 million to the movement ❤️.
@SW-User I'll add it.
CountScrofula · 41-45, M
@SW-User I love that K-pop stans and now BTS are totally backing this movement. Fucking wild. It's so good.

@SW-User I'm aware it is! I used the London protest as an example today. In another post all four of my protest example are from different countries. I was trying to do more of an effect thing. Give me a minute to edit that into my post.

Every people... everywhere.. any time... always been racist.

its human nature...

so you ancestors 200 years ago have been enslaved... no shit man, get over it
Marceline · F
@InOtterWords well... doesnt seem to work to well does it ?

i really dont like this BLM movement... first of all as an asian... BLACK lives matter ??? yeah fuck you too

and its so pumped by the media... oh for a few weeks everyone suddenly cares about racism.. then we are back to normal...
@Marceline because people are taught to hate other races
@Marceline Have you read my post? Even if we dropped everything right now it will not be back to normal. Changes have already been made. I found out two min ago that NYC has just directed police department funding to scoail services and I haven't edited it into my post yet.

Racism is not nature. When people started coming to their senses in the late 1900s and realized racism was bad they made changes. When people realized it was bad to treat African Americans badly compared to others they stopped teaching their children to treat African Americans badly. Look at us now. Equality is now ingrained in our culture because we stopped teaching our kids to treat people like trash. Racism is taught and it shows in everyday society.
Therifleman · 31-35, M
This has shown true colours of a lot of people and I'm glad. People like Sen Matt Gaetz calling for Antifa protesters to be hunted down like terrorists in the middle east. It's not been just about black lives it's shone a light on the cowardice and down right inhumanity of many figures in places of power. Trump possibly getting Barr to order the tear gassing and use of rubber bullets against peaceful protesters outside the white House, so Trump can get a photo op with a bible outside a church.

It's shown that many have to take a good hard look at the state of politics and policing in America and people around the world have taken notice and have called for the same for their own countries.

My mate made the point if any other country dealt with peaceful protests like Trump's America has they would be demanding a regime change, coming for a guy who fought in Iraq a war many believe was illegal.

It’s a great addition to the discussion..@RedtheEmerald
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
Right now, very little of this is meaningful, but these are all very positive signs.

We need action, not only from leaders, but what we must demand from one another.
Harmonium1923 · 51-55, M
Great post. The vast majority of the protests have been peaceful, despite sensationalistic coverage that exaggerates the actions of both protestors and police. And yes, they have been effective.

I'm not sure I agree that "de-funding" police departments is the right solution, though. I'd probably rather see more funding for better hiring, better training on de-escalation and bias recognition, etc.
pentacorn · F
fuckin'a! ☺️ let's keep it rolling forward.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
It exposed Baby-trump's potential as a common thug, a frightened coward, and the darkest side of human nature rarely seen in modern times. And, it revealed the power that comes from challenging those like Baby-trump and "the anti-American & obedient base" who pose to stand in the way of human progress.

And as anything really changed, racism is probably worse.....and more people have got the virus....considering they all ready had the murderers and would have all gone to prison....
