If you plan ahead you could retire in your 50s if you’re lucky if not 90 years old and still working is more likely.

@Gingerbreadspice I mean I think about it alot then it comes in my mind that its too far away why bother now

reflectingmonkey · 51-55, M
its a perfect time to think about this, the money you invest now will grow more than the money you invest tomorow. you will be one of the only people of your generation who will actually get to retire while most will work till they die or finish their days at soup kitchens because no one is thinking about this anymore.

@reflectingmonkey Telling it like it is!!

You will die of a massive block in your artery at 30. So no. 😌
kingofhearts · 26-30, M
@Peaceful I hope not
atlantic59 · 61-69, M
@Peaceful I was going to say something similar along those lines, like we all are going to die sooner than later. Methinks sooner

Definitely start planning now.
Time goes, never to return.
I remember getting my first pay packet in 1977. My retirement date was on there. 2027.
Seemed like a hundred years away. Now only 7 years. I never planned well. Will not be living it up after retirement.
One other thing, if you can, buy a house as soon as you can. With a house you will always have something to fall back on if times get tough.

Yes wouldn't it be nice to be able to retire on your own terms and not have to keep working later I life because there isn't enough retirement for you to stop. Cost of living keeps going up keep that in mind in the bigger picture

You should absolutely care. Hub and I have a comfortable retirement now because we put a substantial chunk of money in our IRAs every year for about 30 years. At first cash, but we very quickly switched to investing in the stock market in our IRAs.

Frankly, yes - by establishing an investment fund for it.

The sooner you start, the easier it will be.
