Who should pay on a first date?

When I was dating I always offered to split the bill but if the guy insisted, then I wouldn't cause an argument about it. If we got to second date then it was my turn.

You can go dutch , just to make sure things may work.☺

How about they each pay half or pay for themselves so that there are no expectations afterwards.

I feel the first date should be by the beach - walking hand in hand n then girl can bring the guy home for coffee n take it from there.
