Whoever said sticks and stones may break our bones but words will never hurt you was wrong. ?

Words hurt they stay stuck in your mind and leave invisible scars

I agree. Injuries heal with time but words leave scars and break a person.

A simple sentence from a loved one like "I wish I never met you" is enough to make a person feel worthless. I'd rather take a punch in the face and bleed than hear something like that.
sticks and stones may break my bones but whips and chains excite me

They were wrong indeed. Cruel character insulting words leave scars you don't soon forget, especially when said by someone you loved.

True. They should've said " sticks and stones may break your bones, but words cant"

I’m rubber, you’re glue whatever you say bounces of me and sticks to you.

Fuk yeah words can sometimes be more hurtful than physical pain
Zoranna · F
Very definitely wrong. They can hurt like nothing else can particularly if they're from someone you care about.
Apologies can be made and accepted but they will always be remembered.
I think the metaphor was supposed to be an encouraging rebuttal to hurtful words, but you’re right nonetheless.

Many years ago I used to say, "Sticks and Stones will break my bones, but words will surely kill me"
