How can I manage trauma?

I was recently diagnosed with PTSD and I have no idea where to begin to heal. Long story short: I have it from a seizure in the shower.

@SW-User It is prescribed by my psychiatrist.

@fluteacorn [c=#4C0073]ahh .. maybe try a different therapist .. doesnt hurt to get a second opinion ..
but if for any reason that's not possible, then i suggest trying the prescription.[/c]

@SW-User I'm trying it tomorrow. I'm scared.

Be honest with your therapist and do your homework. Some of it seems pointless and some of it is outright painful but it all serves a purpose. Lean on those you trust for support. Cut out the people who stress you. Get enough sleep, get into a healthy routine, and make your self care a priority.

It takes time. Hugs. 🤗

@fluteacorn Your therapist can help you learn to cope with difficult family members. Sometimes we can't change the people in our lives but we can learn how to fortify ourselves against their attacks.

@SwampFlower I'll have to mention it.

@fluteacorn You can PM me if you ever want to talk. I wish you well. 🤗
The VA has access to classes that help with that.
@fluteacorn For the combat vets coming home...
but they have a list of providers..
