What's the best language to learn, as far as expanding knowledge?

If you want to train your bairn then language is only one part of it, there are exercises such as juggling which increase brainpower, and there are exercises which increase memory.
If you do want to learn a new language I recommend French or Russian, along with English those are the three most influential languages on the planet.

Very true. I would add that with the exception of English, the three languages cited are not the most influential languages, in my opinion.
Not sure, I read this in a study. I recommend you look into it :D
