I know exactly what you are saying...it happened to me when my first wife cheated (repeatedly) on me 20 years ago. The pain she caused has long since gone and I am now married to a much better woman, but though the feelings (hurt, anger, confusion, etc.) eventually disappear it is something that is forever burned into your memory.
