As a rule of thumb, avoid Westminster. Camden. Hammersmith. Hackney. Harringey. Lambeth. Lewisham. Grenwich & Brixton.

@misterbiggertime Any chance you can get out there and have a look ?

@Picklebobble2 actually I am flying there in a week.. I either find an airbnb room and then look for a flat, or I find a room before fly there, which is risky I know, but either way I have to know where to look at and narrow down, cause it is a HUGE city

London is a hugely mixed city. Two million pound houses lie adjacent to social housing. So it's hard to recommend any specific area, unless you are a zillionaire, and can afford Kensington. Mayfair, hampstead etc.
Easier to say what to avoid. Tower Hamlets, Lewisham spring to mind - but even Lewisham has lovely enclaves. West, South West and South East London tend to be better.
So really to go there with "How much can you afford" and how close to the centre you want to be.
