Anybody living in London?

@Picklebobble2 wow! which only leaves around hyde park I guess.. I was kinda looking a room in camden.. why not? I'm gonna work in soho, and I am trying to find a room 30min walk to work, a place which will be safe and kinda lively.. any suggestions on the positive side?

@misterbiggertime Crime rates are higher in the boroughs listed.

They are also 'settlement' areas (eg: Have high concentration of Asian/African/West Indian/Jamaican groups. consequently gang related crime is a thing.

If possible you want to live in a place on the street. NOT in one of the tower block housing estates. The Police don't even want to go in those after dark !

@misterbiggertime Haven't lived there for a while now but i had a flat in Harringey for many years.

If i learned anything from my time there it would be get to know your community.
Ethnic make-up; community centres; local Councillors; Local shopkeepers; local library; community leaders;....everyone !

Talk to everyone ! Sure. Some may give you the 'cold shoulder' and not want to engage, but many will.
A lot harder for folk to 'rip you off' in any way if they see you about and know you have 'connections' because word will get around and that won't end well for them.

@misterbiggertime West London has everything you could want in terms of nightlife and entertainment. But it also comes at a higher price !

But, you're in London ! Just about everywhere is accessible either by bus or Underground ! This means, if you decide to 'risk-it' and live in a 'dodgy' area because of price, you can at least get from home and to work reasonably easily.

@Picklebobble2 yeah man I am searching on google maps all around london, pretty crazy and hectic place, dense, crowded..

@misterbiggertime True. BUT it has some amazing people doing incredible things, just about everywhere !
Check out some of the very small cafes or sandwich bars. They're amazing !

@Picklebobble2 I bet! I found this tottenham court road in fitzrovia, which extends to camden, I love the look of this street on google maps, awesome small shops like you said and very lively.. and 30min walk distance to work.. I guess this is the place for me

@Picklebobble2 actually I am flying there in a week.. I either find an airbnb room and then look for a flat, or I find a room before fly there, which is risky I know, but either way I have to know where to look at and narrow down, cause it is a HUGE city
