Being a good woman to a man is hard...

You have to cook, tend to the kids, make sure everything is going in flow, maintain breakfast, lunch, and dinner, keep the house clean, get the kids up for school. Dress them. Pray for everyone in the household. Take care of yourself. But by the time you have tended to your needs your drained and forget your needs and just burnt out. What is the true way of things. How should things really go? In a healthy household. I feel like I鈥檓 so tired of holding everything down and making sure everything is in tact. When I have a lazy day I feel guilty because I don鈥檛 have a job but at the house.

Most women who does that often don't get respect. Which is why I look for guys who could help me in chores rather an lazy ass. We have only one life, enjoy when you can. I am thinking of taking my mother for a world tour when I get enough money

I can never imagine throwing my life away to be an unpaid maid ie. housewife like my mother, even she regrets it now

You dont have to spend all that.Theres two of you.you can have as many lazy days that you want.Just me reading this made me tired
Ugh... Take it from one who gave everything... Take moments and time for yourself - be strong, remember who you are,amd you have a right to have leisure.

Otherwise, you forget who you are, and the moment you're not needed... You're thrown away.

Know your worth, and NEVER give it up.

Mother hood requires a vigilance and constant attention to such a degree as no other - dont EVER feel you do nothing, because otherwise, that's how you will be perceived.

@BoobooSnafu wise words
You serve your man. Does your man serve you? If he doesn鈥檛 you will burn out and become resentful

Unfortunately what you described is an outdated old fashioned "ideal" for a good/happy relationship and marriage. There are still a lot of people who hold onto this concept. It should be an equal partnership, give and take on both sides...because they WANT to out of love and respect, not because of some expected dictate of "roles".

I watched my mother do that and decided that marriage was a partnership. So I helped when I could and did a lot for my first wife. The narcissist took over and made my life hell. But your not the glue or duct tape. Your needs have to be met too!
Alot of men want a slave & call it being a "good woman. Its a scam & you need to make sure youre being properly cared for in your relationship. Its sad that you feel guilty for wanting a day to relax...?!

Live your life, if those aren't your kids, please live your life accordingly, you're young.

Don't feel guilty for maintaining the castle, you've done your part and that's all that matters.

Being a good man is sharing all the chores.

Whatare you talking about? Doesn't sound like a parenting partnership to me.
SW-User
You just sound like an unpaid servant
SW-User
This is not being a good woman. I call it being a maid.
DownTheStreet51-55, M
And what does he do?
SW-User
That's a tall order....馃槱
If you find the right man, you have a partnership where both of you contribute to running the household, raising the children and earning a living to fund it all. No one person is stuck with a gender-specific set of chores unless that鈥檚 how they both want things.

.. don't forget the conjugal duty in the bedroom.
