Do you think Trump will be impeached?

Democrats in red districts and moderate districts are saying they are NOT committed to impeachment.

He has been impeached:
Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body levels charges against a government official. Impeachment does not in itself remove the official definitively from office; it is similar to an indictment in criminal law, and thus it is essentially the statement of charges against the official.
The statement of charges have been made. Now, do I think he will be convicted and removed from office? It depends on the Republicans in the Senate. Judging by the last three years, no.

@PainfulTruth Have they already voted on the articles of impeachment? I've not been watching today.

@SW-User You're right, the full House hasn't voted. Sorry. Once the House votes, assuming they vote to impeach, then he will be impeached, but not removed and not convicted. It's a charge, not a conviction, as you guys know more than I.

@Floridian I think this has been a political learning experience for many of us.

The impeachment is already done...in the House. It was pre-decided and the voting was just for show. Now if they desire to remove Trump from office they have to go before the Senate for a trial. No matter what the outcome, there will be historical record of impeachment. Clinton was impeached, but was not removed from office.

The only question right now is will Trump be removed from office, and whether Mitch McConnell will simply dismiss the charges by motion immediately when it arrives at the Senate, or will he allow it to go to trial. Trump can be impeached, will not be removed from office, and can run in the 2020 election.

Mitch McConnell just flashed on the news for a couple of seconds and said there is no chance that the president will be removed from office.

@4meAndyou As I understand it, they haven't had an impeachment vote in the House yet. The vote today was the judiciary committee voting to send the articles of impeachment to the House for an impeachment vote.

I hope McConnell will just dismiss the charges and let it be done! There is nothing new that could come out of it, really. 99% of Americans will believe what they want, regardless. If Biden or Hunter Biden did do anything wrong, maybe that's something that another committee can look into.

@SW-User Yes, you are correct. Although the fix is in, and the House Republicans will be disenfranchised by the House majority, I suppose there is one more fake vote that must take place.

I think Trump and the Republicans could have a real fun rodeo if this ever goes to trial in the Senate...with a lot of bronco riding, bull roping, hat waving and hootin' and hollerin', and put the boots put to the Dems. They are threatening to actually have a REAL trial with Hunter Biden and the Whistleblower and ALL the really embarrassing facts would be brought to light. I can't imagine that's what the Dems want...but we'll see.

This has been coming since Trump won in 2016 . The Democrats can’t beat him in an election , so this is how they hoped to win. And during this process Trump has enjoyed his highest polling numbers ever ... and support for impeachment is low .

No and they know they can't they are just trying to discredit him as they don't have a viable candidate to beat him. That is backfiring however as his approval is soaring.
I don’t even care.
