I remember first hearing Stranglehold on the radio in '75 and rushed out to buy the album (original pressing) that I still have. After years of playing it repeatedly I had to by another one due to all the crackles and pops. A couple of things I discovered after research that I didn't know: his guitar solo was recorded in a [i]single [/i]take - one and done, the vocals are by Derek St. Holmes but the "Sometimes you wanna get higher" verse is sung by Ted.

However, on the tv series "Sounds of the Time" he said that unfortunately [i]every record label passed on him.[/i] So about the lyrics, Ted said it was a song of defiance...

I knew about the singer only because I had a musician friend I jammed with for a spell that knew everything about music and musicians. LOL

Ted has a house about 10 minutes from me. I have yet to see him. He even owned a hunting store in town and I never seen him there either.
Everyone i know has met him at least once.

The funny part about the original post was it was sort of a joke. Yes it was at liberals expense but none the less a joke.
Some times I have to wonder about people.
