Your life will change, that's simply a fact. The hardest part is adjusting from living for yourself to living for your family. However, it's important to take a few moments for yourself. Go out with friends, have dinner, do something special, just make sure you have a good babysitter.

@raysam363 omg thank you.
Not a mom, just stretched between work and helping family at home .. no downtime .. almost no social life - I understand so well what it feels like to be like a robot.. my family doesn't understand the concept of NEEDING Time for self restoration. I can't say I need to relax . I must basically always be working on some task. It is draining.
It all becomes a concern when your life plans start becoming distant dreams..
Each person deserves to have or to find a way to nourish their own humanity and to chase their dreams.. even moms ! :D

Not a mom, so this may not count. If you are always there for them, someday the identity you will treasure most is being mom and eventually grandma. The truth is that for awhile it is about them. 🙂

@trackman11 it 100% is but I also need to keep my identity

Set aside time every day to be alone. Some days it might only be five or ten minutes, but find those minutes somewhere, and make it a priority. Being a good mother and taking care of your family requires that you take care of yourself too.

@BananaBrown I’ve tried that but I don’t even know what to do anymore

You don’t know what to do when you’re alone? Anything! Call a friend or go for a walk. If you have more than just a few minutes, try to pick up an old hobby or treat yourself to a movie. Sometimes, simply not being “mom” for a little while helps to clear the mind:) @Soramarie]
