Moms, how do you not get lost in being a mom and loose yourself?

New mom #2 on the way. While I love my children and my family, I almost feel like I have no idea who I am anymore

Your life will change, that's simply a fact. The hardest part is adjusting from living for yourself to living for your family. However, it's important to take a few moments for yourself. Go out with friends, have dinner, do something special, just make sure you have a good babysitter.

i mean my mom lives here so sitters are covered. I live for my family but I never go out. Maybe that’ll help some.

@Soramarie My sister got like that. She and her husband don't do a lot, but try to do something at least once a week for themselves. You're human, not a robot. Your brain needs a rest too.

i just told him the other day we should start doin an us night. Maybe play a card/ board game together. Or binge watch something in our room just us and eat junk. Something cheap/free to keep alive

@Soramarie Exactly. Doesn't have to be fancy, just something together and away from the kids for a bit.

and actually investing in each other rather than our phones 🤦‍♀️ Such a bad habit

@Soramarie That is common among people even without kids. Pick up a classic board game or something, buy some junk food for a bad movie night, just enjoy each other's company.

@raysam363 we are trying to get back to being a couple. Even having my mom take them (after other baby is here) and going hiking. Simple things

@raysam363 omg thank you.

Not a mom, just stretched between work and helping family at home .. no downtime .. almost no social life - I understand so well what it feels like to be like a robot.. my family doesn't understand the concept of NEEDING Time for self restoration. I can't say I need to relax . I must basically always be working on some task. It is draining.

It all becomes a concern when your life plans start becoming distant dreams..

Each person deserves to have or to find a way to nourish their own humanity and to chase their dreams.. even moms ! :D
