Have You Ever Walked Into A Grocery Store And Bought Something You Thought Was The Meat Of An Animal... And It Wasn't?

The very powerful meat industry, has done and are attempting to pass laws forbidding the use of labels/words like "veggie burger" or "vegan hot dog" on plant-based products. They SAY that it is confusing or "deceptive" to consumers, even though every plant-based "meat" product has meatless plain as day somewhere on the front of the packaging.

I'm going to say what I said on the other post. If people are getting confused, it's part of the overall dumbing down of America.

However, I'm going to say that I very much doubt anybody is mistaking veggie burgers or Impossible steaks for the real thing. The packages are already clearly marked, because the fact that the products are plant-based is a selling point. You could even say it is THE selling point. "Hey, this Impossible meat tastes just like a cow, but it's better for you. This almond milk tastes just like dairy, but without the fat and carbohydrates."

@LordShadowfire They are usually in a different part of the store as well. The packaging is totally different as you said.

People are getting stupid for sure.

@LordShadowfire Exactly, they don't want to be deceptive, their selling point is being meatless.
