Anyone own there own business? How to get back up when people tear you down.

I started my own business a year ago after leaving a top 5 tech company. I have a lot of experience in marketing and business development, but there were I admit some skills I was and might even in some areas still be lacking. Lets be honest, no one is perfect. With that being said though, i'm learning every day, and the things I don't know i'm finding with a little education, or even a quick google sometimes i'm able to figure it out.. Well.. my sister who also has her own business and is doing the same stuff i'm doing.. Is so so so mad at me because I decided to get into the same business as her.. I mean the business is social media and web design. A lot of people do this. Its not unique. I even just completed a degree for web design... With all of that being said, I was actually a vendor for her, helping her fullfill some of her work, she couldn't pay me.. truly.. so she fired me.. This sent me into a huge spiral where I was like OMG i need clients.. So guess what.. I bought a list of 5000 business owners, and sent them all personalized emails.. and NOW im swimming in business.. So much so.. that I cant take it all on, so i've sent a few people her way.. Well.. That really pissed her off.. She called me a fraud, told me iv'e betrayed her trust, I don't know what i'm doing, i'm not an expert.. and if that's not enough.. With her being in NYC, and ME being in Dallas.. Taking on west coast business is apparently encroaching on her territory...She has totally and completely and utterly torn me down verbally.. I'm trying to find the strength to keep going, and I am.. But im deeply confused and sad about the whole thing..and i feel like she just wants to see me fail.. I feel like a lot of people do... And that is defeating.. What is the deal with people wanting others to fail? WHY?! I dont feel that way about others... Anyone owned their own business? can you tell of a defeating time? and how you got back up? any advice appreciated. please be kind, im in a tough spot. Thanks so much!

I have been in business all my life. I soon learned that more people are happy to help you go down rather than help you succeed. I was told told in my early days that I would make nothing until I had made a few mistakes. How true this was. The secret is never give up and you will succeed. Good luck.

@Northerner There is a reason why businessman are called businessman. Money, money and more of it. Even on the expense of others. Really I met who do business on principles.
