Lately I've been falling asleep on the couch or easy chair while watching TV. But when I eventually make it to the bed, it's all lights out except for the glow of the alarm clock display.

Normally I prefer it to bed dark and no lights with the exception of being in a place where I am not formulary with them just enough light to keep from running in to things if I need to get up in the middle of the night.

I sleep with a light on in the kitchen. I've always been afraid of the dark, which is why I used to stay up all night. Not so bad now that I'm a pitiful broken-down hopeless old man.

I have one of those little USB chargeable lights that come on whenever they detect movement. I'm so unsteady on my feet I'd fall flat on my face several times a night otherwise.

I have my phone set to wake me up in the morning and if I want a little light I can grab the phone and turn on the screen, it’s enough.
