So, Brazil is clearing out the Amazon to make way for farm land. Is the deforestation in the Amazon really any of our business?

Brazil is a sovereign country. The U.N. needs to stop trying to enact international law. Oh, and What about the decades of deforestation in Papua New Guinea by Europeans, mainly Great Britain lumber companies?

Wether it’s grass or trees . Plants filter the bad stuff.. isn’t 7 billion ppl enough for a limit? More ppl. Need more food. You can’t eat a rain forest

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout excellent point. Those plants will most certainly produce oxygen. Also, reduce the need for livestock. It may in fact balance itself out

They’re burning the rainforest to make way for farm land to feed livestock... @TruthHurts
I stand by my statement.. across the same amount of land. Trees/grass/ fruit and veg. Convert the same amount of pollutants.. cow grazing land will still be grass..
So tired of hippies spreading fear and propaganda @brainrapist

It’s not fear or propaganda, it’s facts. And I pointed it out because he said it would reduce the need for livestock, yet the purpose is to be able to feed more livestock. And even if grass is replanted, there’s thousands of species in the rainforest that will probably be destroyed because of this. It’s not all about the damn trees. @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout

@brainrapist Scientists point out that while the Amazon rainforest produces oxygen, it is far from the lungs of the world. “The Amazon does not change the oxygen balance much. It, for example, annually removes up to two billion tons of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere through photosynthesis, and it returns about 1.5 billion tons of oxygen to the atmosphere
TruthHurts · 36-40, M
@brainrapist However, the term "oxygen production" is quite misleading, as the decomposition of organic plant and animal matter in rainforests actually consumes about the same amount of oxygen as the forests produce.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout But liberals are okay with cutting down trees to build wind farms and solar farms that produce very little energy

@TruthHurts because screw any animal other than us right?
