I have bad insomnia. I think it's my stress levels. How can I lower stress?

I should've been heading to sleep around 10-11pm

Best way I've found to lower stress is simply to not give a flip. It takes up space and time in your head. Clogs the freeways of your mind. Easier said than done for intelligent beings. Look at animals they don't give a crap about nothing but food, personal space and who is in heat.
Or just give it to Jehovah and go to sleep. Or Buddha what ever you call your creator. I go with the heavenly father moniker. Can you say screw it I can't do anything about it right now. It'll be there in the morning. Right where you left it. Simple answers for simple minds. Like mine.Hope this keyed an escape, or a good idea for ya
