Is SW generally hostile to non binary gender people?

PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]i think people get hostile towards anything if it is constantly shoved down their throats [/c]
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]maybe not just one person in particular but if the subject is constantly brought up and you cant get away from it, that is still being forced upon people.. [/c]
Fernie · F
@PlumBerries you're right about that...I've just never seen anyone go that far here...the sane people generally put a stop to it...the religious godbots do this more than any others
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]true i think more on this site is politics being forced upon everyone.. religion used to be a somewhat current theme but yeah its all mostly politics here anyway..
It can be that way with gender and race a lot now also especially on other social sites and news feeds, journalists and so on.. I don't really understand why people have to announce to everyone their sexuality and basically make their whole lives about just one thing that makes them them.. if that makes sense..

I am not against anyone being whatever they want to be if it doesn't hurt anyone.. i just hate it when being told that i myself have to ignore basic biology and so on because a very small group of people in the world feel a different way..
Again, feel free to be as you please but you don't need to force said beliefs onto everyone else to still be what you feel you are[/c]

@Kingfish28 apologies for using English. Only language I've learnt. One of my life's regrets.

I see a few very negative posts / comments. I hope though that that is only a minority and also hope those who identify outside of the classic binary definitions don't feel discouraged, discriminated against or bullied.
jomsim · 26-30, M
It seems reasonably tolerant, although there will always be people with ultra-conservative values.
lucyyy · 51-55, F
@AbriendaSlam!
lucyyy · 51-55, F
@jomsimIt has worked on you and always will.
jomsim · 26-30, M
@lucyyy No, it really doesn't work. I will never be your victim, no matter how nasty and devious your attempts to make me so. Light will be shone on what you are doing.

Not everyone. It's like rl. Some will be kind others not. Some will like you others not.
No but there's some haters around .. I dont think the general population is hostile tho :) just block the haters? Sigh 😬 They're so annoying 😕
helenS · 36-40, F
@SStarfish It's never a good idea to block people based on their opinions.
MartinII · 70-79, M
@helenS Well, if they keep saying the same thing over and over again, and don’t listen to other opinions ...
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@MartinII Exactly. They are here for affirmation, supports, agreements, maybe hugs, not honest opinion about their "lifestyle." Sorry, we are not paid therapists. If their feelings are hurt, well too bad let them go to a safe space and play with a puppy. Until the world morphs into a new version of the Soviet Union I have a right to express my own FACT based opinion on their aberrant behavior.
Obviously, there will be the moronic element who disapprove, but they can be ignored as they have absolutely nothing worthy of recognition.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
Not me.
But I still have to get familiar to Hexadecimal genders.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CharlieZ It's a continuum. It does not depend on the way you count things.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@helenS I trend to think, in a more general way, in the discrete domain.
But that´s MY weak point.

On the specifics of gender, all people are friendly welcome by me. With my full respect.
helenS · 36-40, F
@CharlieZ Personally I feel completely fine within that male/female polarity.
BlueRain · F
Everyone was born a gender.
BlueRain · F
I agree. Either one is born a male or female.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@BlueRain Since when did what is clearly a mental or psychological condition become elevated to the point where it cancels out basic biology?
BlueRain · F
Since day one

I’ve only seen a few people on here who discriminated against non binary gender people.
[c=#359E00]they more hostile to religious people, so don't worry[/c]
Fernie · F
Only a few close minded ignoramuses are hostile
MartinII · 70-79, M
I don’t think many people, here or anywhere else, are hostile to non binary gender people as individuals. I think quite a lot of people are probably hostile to, or at least sceptical about, the quasi-political agenda of transgender activists.
helenS · 36-40, F
@MartinII It's a new movement, it's at most some decades old. Yes the activists are a bit loud, but that's better than remaining silent.
InvaderNice · 26-30, M
I decided to be more accepting after Caitlyn Jenner broke my brain by supporting Trump. Not that I only accept people who support Trump; it just got me out of the mindset of identity politics.
SW-User
Not on here much anymore but when I have? I see more political bullshit hostility than anything else.
TonyPajamas · 22-25
I seen a few people say negative things but in general, I don’t think it is.
helenS · 36-40, F
You will find more than enough people on here who are not narrow-minded.
xixgun · M
Please do not mistake my indifference for hostility
Wol62 · 51-55, M
It's only peoples opinions'.

Fuck 'em but you have to respect them.
