What is one defining trait about both political parties?

Try not to fight, kids, but be honest.

For Democrats: Take a high and mighty approach while talking down to anyone who doesn't agree. Essentially, a superiority complex.

For Republicans: Quick to defend but usually pretty tame about it. A lot of diverse opinions, but the ones who shout loudest are heard most often.

Your bias is showing in the phrasing of your question, lol

@Quizzical Can only say what I've seen.
@Quizzical Thank you.

Republicans believe that it is our responsibility to take care of ourselves.

Democrats believe that it is our duty to take care of each other.

Republicans have a strong aversion to ambiguity. Everything has to be black or white.

Democrats have a strong aversion to inequality. Everything needs to be fair and/or equal.

Republicans dislike strangers and outsiders. Democrats dislike individuals and mavericks.

Republicans want a plentiful future. Democrats want a safer future.

Republicans are deluded by the idea of freedom. Democrats are deluded by the idea of peace.

These of course are all generalizations, but there's a nugget of truth behind each one
@TinyViolins But it’s a fair assessment of the differences.

My opinion: everyone should grow up and get along. No one of us has the answers. Governing is a tough and complicated job on which few of us are experts, including our president. But every president has made mistakes. Someone somewhere has found something to criticize and something to praise.

Politics are not meant to be taken so seriously. What’s important is humanity and in this day and age, people need to learn to take it easy. The world is not ending yet.
Well, I guess I see where you stand.

@bijouxbroussard If anything, this confirms the democrat statement.

@JaggedLittlePill Tell me who I vote for
@raysam363 No, it confirms your bias.

Quick to defend but usually pretty tame about it

"All liberals are baby-eating Satanists". Tell me, what were conservatives defending against when they came out with that tame response?
raysam363 · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard The information readily available in real life, common internet sources, here (of all places), and passing conversations with coworkers. I'd say that's a decent pool. But I won't convince you about anything.
@raysam363 Nor I you, certainly . You came in with a biased, slanted question. So I have no expectations of fairness from you. 😒
raysam363 · 36-40, F
@bijouxbroussard Difference of opinion, if we all thought the same the world would be dull.
Greed. They're two sides of the same coin and equally are an impediment to democracy.

Yes,tame are some republicans like Trump ☕️
raysam363 · 36-40, F
@SW-User Trump is more of the response of laziness and divisiveness thrown against the wall. Last election was a crapshoot.

There are political extremists on both sides

@JaggedLittlePill I just give the people what they want, an easy target
JaggedLittlePill · 46-50, F
@raysam363 If you think that is what you have done...then you keep believing.

@JaggedLittlePill Hey, grew up under O'Malley. I may be biased, but with reason.

Answer: You get an ass with a short-term memory who's addicted to using Twitter.
