Does anyone else feel weird about posting statements as questions?

You only have two options: ask a question or write a story. Unless I’m missing something, the story has to fit into a certain category - whereas questions don’t have any guidelines. I don’t feel like there’s enough groups to match things I want to post/discuss. But something about just using the “ask a question” option to make a statement or share an experience feels weird to me (maybe I like to follow rules/instructions too much).

I really wish more people felt weird about it or even better, if Admin addressed the matter as it really lowers the quality of the site. Statements posted as questions usually do nothing but dumb it down.

It is weird, until you break the conditioning and your mind becomes free...then questions become statements...statements become questions...questions are a burden to others...and answers are a prison for oneself...

@SW-User Strange philosophy.

I like to follow rules too but the Question section here tends to be used like an offbrand Twitter feed.
It's more "status update" than "question".

I think these rules exist for a reason. I wish that we could create groups. I know, this has been brought up many times before, but I think that that might help with that. Then again, some people might just be a little too lazy to find or create a group that their statement would fit into. However, there are a few catch-all groups, such as "I Have Something to Say," or "I Don't Know Where To Put This."

But yeah, I would feel weird about that too. And I don't do it.

If I want to make a statement, I use the Questions option but I might add a note, like: (Not a question). Or I might add a note that says: (Question below).

@4meAndyou Some people post a statement and add a question to it to make it valid as a question.

@Crazychick Hmm. I suppose that almost works. I've seen posts here from people going off because statements were used in the question forum. Sometimes I want to tell people to get a life, TBH.

I wish they’d change the questions layout. Call it something different.

Stories are much more personal, kind of like a blog.

It looks weird, that's why I don't do it.

I've been asking for a third option (create your own statement) ever since I joined here
