Do younger people still talk to elders today and try and learn from them?

I always have.

I don't see much at all. But I remember when I was young I knew it all... :)

Age is always a guarantee of wisdom.

In rural China, or a small village in the jungles of Brazil, yes. But in a technological society old people are considered obsolete and people discuss things like "a duty to die" when it comes to the old.
