@MethDozer I wouldn't say Instant Karma sucks, but I don't much care for it. Lennon by himself had some good numbers. "The Ballad oh John and Yoko" was pretty good, even though it was silly. But he got too weird and philosophical after the Beatles broke up. He was still very talented, but he changed a lot.

@BlueMetalChick He has playing skill nut his song writing talent to use those skill sucked. Especially after they stopped being rock.and roll and turned into late 60s fancy lad and dandies.


I say all these songs listed are pretentious trash.

@MethDozer It depends on which ones he meant seriously and which ones he didn't. "Smoke and Glass" for example, was pretty pretentious, because he meant it seriously. "Imagine" I can enjoy because it's not getting too ahead of itself.

@BlueMetalChick Imagine is pretty pretentious. Duck I wish I could go my whole.life and never have to suffer Lennon's singing or songs again. So boring.

I honestly cannot take anything he did seriously after Revolver.

@MethDozer Imagine is mostly just "wouldn't it be great if we stopped fighting wars and hating each other because of our religions." I can share that sentiment. I've lived through years and years of war because of religion and I know what it's like.

Now, when you start diving into Lennon and Yoko's "baggism" theories, that's pretty goddamn pretentious.

@MethDozer I didn't know of them until after I showed up in Perth, and this woman used to play their early stuff on a portable stereo.
