An Australian Lebaneseman took his family to Syria so he could fight with Isis

He claims he has made a mistake and now wants to bring his family back home to Australia. What should the government do in this situation?
Zoranna · F
Refuse him re-entry. He made his choice when he went so now has to pay the consequences.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@Zoranna I wouldn’t be a all surprised if he stays there he will raise his kids to be terrorists as payback. After all family obviously doesn’t come first.
Public execution.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@EugenieLaBorgia Hm, does that make us as bad as them 🤷‍♀️
@VodkaBec Of course not!
Cmstars · 22-25, F
Keep him out.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@Cmstars It’s been suggested that he comes back and goes to prison, and as part of the deal he works with the authorities deradicalising young people.
SW-User
I'm Australian, and honestly, I'd definitely let his children back in. Australia is probably what they've known, and it sucks to just keep then out because of what the father has done. In my opinion, it's a crime that the man can go to prison for in Australia, but his family doesn't need to suffer.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@SW-User Yes it’s his kids I feel so sorry for as well. I wonder if his wife had a choice or whether it was an arranged marriage.
Eddiesolds · 61-69, M
Leave the prick there
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@Eddiesolds l agree but the thing that worries me is that no doubt he will develop a hate for the western world and his children could potentially become tomorrow’s terrorists.
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
@VodkaBec He already hates the West when joined ISIS, don't you think? He and his Children can hate the West as much as they want; as long as they are not allowed to live in the West or to visit it, they cannot commit terror attacks in the West.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@Mugin16 He did hate the west until he discovered life over there, well at least he has a reason to now, lol.
WillaKissing · 56-60
Do not allow him back into your country! If you decide one day it is a good idea to take your family to go fight for a religious hate group; then stay there and live in the bed you made for yourself and your family!
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@WillaKissing I don’t disagree with you at all but I feel so sorry for his kids. They have lived the Australian way of life from birth and now they will have to live in poverty in a foreign country and probably fatherless for some years.
WillaKissing · 56-60
@VodkaBec True, but I guarantee you that if the father left Australia to pursue hate; then he has been teaching that hate to his children, and I feel they will follow their father's doctrine and teaching of hate. So though we can feel sorry for them. You and your society won't be able to wash the Jihad out of them; especially living in a ISIS camp and getting indoctrinated daily. Hell those kids are probably already assisting and caring out ISIS plans and plots!

I guarantee they are spoon fed to kill you 24/7! A body and a nation no matter it's good intentions should not ingest poison because it will eventually kill you!
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@WillaKissing Yes it has already been suggested that they have already been brainwashed to carry out threats at a future date.
Leave him in Syria
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@BeefySenpie I suppose the big question is what do you do with his young kids, it’s them I feel for.
Pfuzylogic · M
House him with the Roos and have him carry on with daily boxing matches.
How are Auzzies about immigration?
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@SW-User I think you have misunderstood me, I didn’t say the Aussies are cool with what’s happening on Manus Islsnd or other places refugees are housed. Infant I’ll go as far as to say most Australians are appalled by this situation and the violations of basic human rights these refugees are being subjected to. This is a sad reflection on our government but it certainly doesn’t reflect the feelings of the general public. Despite the loud noises of the vocal minority, Australians are generally pretty tolerant.
SW-User
@VodkaBec I'd say a lot of Australians aren't racist or anything like that. They're tolerant of people from different places, but a lot of them just generally aren't fond of, like, actual immigration to Australia. At least in the places that I've lived in.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@SW-User Yes like all of these types of issues, there’s always mixed opinions. All of the people I mix with are totally against it. My original comment was based on some independent research done by the Melbourne uni about four years ago while I was still there. In short they found that most Aussies were fine with controlled immigration and also agreed with deportation for repeat lay breakers.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Have him apply to live there
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@MrBrownstone That’s a thought.
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
Charge him with treason and lock him up.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@walabby I wonder what he would do if the authorities did, would he pose a further threat?
walabby · 61-69, M
@VodkaBec Maybe... maybe not. I just would feel anxious to have a fully trained and experienced terrorist let into the country.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@walabby Yes that thought worries me too.
Tres13 · 51-55, M
send them up to NZ
Mongoheadmonster · 41-45, M
He should be allowed back and the Australian government should pay him 10 million dollars.....or is that only a Canadian thing 🤔
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@Mongoheadmonster WTF, I must have missed that one.
Mongoheadmonster · 41-45, M
@VodkaBec google Omar Khadr......this is one of the many examples of why liberals suck
SW-User
Use him as a tool to de-radicalise others. After he has served jail time for his crimes.
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@SW-User I believe this is a good idea and has been mentioned amongst my group of friends.
msros · F
Send him to New Zealand so that the Begum there will welcome him.
@msros 😡
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@msros It will be interesting to see what becomes of that bastard.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
why did he wanted to go there in the first place?
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@FreestyleArt I can only assume he believes in Isis and their ideology.
FreestyleArt · 31-35, M
@VodkaBec well....too-late for him
walabby · 61-69, M
I don't think that I want them back...
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@walabby As unfortunate as it is I’m kinda leaning that way too.
Abandon 💁‍♂️
VodkaBec · 31-35, F
@Teggy Like he has done re his responsibility to his kids.
PlumBerries · 31-35, F
[c=#7700B2]too bad. he shouldn't get to come back[/c]
Mugin16 · 46-50, M
Leave him in Syria.
