An Australian Lebaneseman took his family to Syria so he could fight with Isis

He claims he has made a mistake and now wants to bring his family back home to Australia. What should the government do in this situation?

House him with the Roos and have him carry on with daily boxing matches.
How are Auzzies about immigration?

@Pfuzylogic I’d rather they make him a tackling dummy for the Roos football club, lol. As far as immigration goes, I think Aussies are generally cool with it as long as it’s not in excessive numbers and doesn’t affect employment.

@VodkaBec
The Auzzies are kind hearted then lol

@Pfuzylogic @VodkaBec Man, the Aussies ain't cool with it at all. I wish they were kind hearted. Our refugee policy is effin brutal. Our treatment of refugees, immigrants, and asylum seekers is so abusive that people have said it is violating human rights. It's insane.

I didn’t know.
I am glad you are pointing
that out though.

@Pfuzylogic Yeah, a lot of our refugees were sent to Nauru, which is, like, an island nation. The Australian government kept them there in camps and subjected them to psychological and physical abuse. They were kept in inhumane conditions and were refused medical assistance. It's sick.

@SW-User That sounds worse than Guantanamo

@SW-User I think you have misunderstood me, I didn’t say the Aussies are cool with what’s happening on Manus Islsnd or other places refugees are housed. Infant I’ll go as far as to say most Australians are appalled by this situation and the violations of basic human rights these refugees are being subjected to. This is a sad reflection on our government but it certainly doesn’t reflect the feelings of the general public. Despite the loud noises of the vocal minority, Australians are generally pretty tolerant.

@VodkaBec I'd say a lot of Australians aren't racist or anything like that. They're tolerant of people from different places, but a lot of them just generally aren't fond of, like, actual immigration to Australia. At least in the places that I've lived in.

@SW-User Yes like all of these types of issues, there’s always mixed opinions. All of the people I mix with are totally against it. My original comment was based on some independent research done by the Melbourne uni about four years ago while I was still there. In short they found that most Aussies were fine with controlled immigration and also agreed with deportation for repeat lay breakers.
