Does the Mafia still have cities where they go to business owners and make them pay money or use the business as a front for Mafia related activities?

BlueVeins · 22-25
Organized crime in the U.S. just isn't all that practical anymore. This kind of shit definitely exists in places like Brazil though.

@BlueVeins I’ve heard that the mafia started investing in legitimate operations such as large used car auctions in Texas, stuff like that and heard it a number of years ago.

Of course. A young kid shot and killed the Mafia boss in New York a few weeks ago. His family tried to flee but police caught them and brought them back to the city. The family..get it? Not the kid. The cops are not in the pockets of the mob at all😂

@Bagalamaga Not buying the Gambino story completely either.

@cherokeepatti maybe it was a rival who used the kid as an accessory. I think they said it was over a girl or sth. In the news

@Bagalamaga I think it was as set up and they used the kid to get the Gambino. He hadn’t been out of prison long had he? He might have been released because he was talking. Family involved in child porn operations.

I think gangs have pretty much taken that over...in their "hoods" anyway.

@MrBlueGuy yikes, the drug cartels are doing it in Guatemala. I was at a business this week and an older man came in to tell the owner he had a problem..his mom has a small store she runs out of her home and the cartel people come by every two weeks to collect the equivalent of $250 each time...if she doesn’t have it they’ll set her house on fire.

@therighttothink50 I remember in the 60’s when the Mafia was taking over small businesses and using them as fronts in Kansas City. Heard decades later that they got it cleaned up.

have no doubt crime-syndicates are alive and well in 2019 … even in 'super-power' countries … i will say nothing more.
