I’ll be honest I was never a big fan of prescription meds and I’m still not to be truthful but I tried to deal with my depression and anxiety on my own for four years and I thought I was done with it but then one day I had a nervous breakdown because of all my crazy chaotic random thoughts and when I went into the behavioral health center they diagnosed me with depression and anxiety and at first I told them no I won’t take any meds but I thought to myself apparently I’m not strong enough to do it on my own so I finally agreed to give the meds a try , it takes at least a week maybe to notice any affects much less side affects and as it has already been mentioned you may feel a little more depressed and or anxious maybe fatigue nausea etc... but let your doctor know if something doesn’t feel right , I was taking fluoxetine for depression and hydroxazine for anxiety but I noticed I couldn’t sleep because my legs would twitch at night really bad so I stopped taking the hydroxazine and it settled down so I told my doctor and he took me off of them completely then gave me trazadone to help me sleep which I take as needed when I have trouble falling asleep anyway the depression meds do take the edge off for sure so the can help but unfortunately it’s different for everyone so all you can do is give them a try and see how they affect you if you don’t like it tell your doc and maybe he can find something else for you , just keep your doctor updated on what’s going on and allow him to work with you to help find a solution.

Definitely take with food because it might hit your stomach kinda hard. Might feel a little anxious. But try to keep a clear schedule. Definitely stop taking them if you see in time if it makes you more depressed or isn't working at all.

@Browneyes92 I was on three, now I'm down to one. They helped with anxiety for a problem which turned out later to be epilepsy. Well, more importantly the anxiety which came from the effects of having partial seizures and not knowing what the fuck they were. The biggest and most frustrating side effect I had with mine was that the more I took, the harder I found it to cum. Frustrating!! Dropping down to just one tablet was like being a teenager again!!

@Allelse wow I'm sorry you had to experience that. It sounds very difficult. I hope your doing better now. And yes that does sounds very frustrating.

@Browneyes92 Yep doing much better, I'm epilepsy medicine and they're great. And yeah it was 3 hours and no stop in sight! Wore my poor wife out.

When I was taking Zoloft it made me tired at first. I would take it before bed.
PhoenixPhail · M
@Doomflower It made me dizzy for the first couple of weeks.
@Doomflower zoloft makes me so tired

Depends on the medication.
Highonheels · 51-55, M
@Theseus true different meds have different side affects and it depends on how your body reacts to them
SolitaryPanther · 36-40, M
Get off them! Those prescription Drugs are just going to mess up your system. Find another way if you can. Seriously that shit is not good for your system.
Highonheels · 51-55, M
@SolitaryPanther I agree with you to an extent I have never been a fan of prescription meds either but sometimes we just can’t do it on our own and sometimes there’s no other way unfortunately.
SolitaryPanther · 36-40, M
@Highonheels I completely understand, someone already checked me on that.
Highonheels · 51-55, M
@SolitaryPanther sorry I wasn’t trying to check you so much as just making a statement hope I didn’t offend you

It depends on the antidepressant and your system.
You’ll feel a lil tired and maybe nauseous. Anti depressants are different for every person. Hopefully, they work for you and help with whatever you’re going through in life rn

See if you can get ahold of a book called: Feeling Good, The New Mood Therapy.

If you're taking this one, you can expect to have a good day.

You'll feel like shit for the first two weeks or so as they settle into your system.
