I’ll be honest I was never a big fan of prescription meds and I’m still not to be truthful but I tried to deal with my depression and anxiety on my own for four years and I thought I was done with it but then one day I had a nervous breakdown because of all my crazy chaotic random thoughts and when I went into the behavioral health center they diagnosed me with depression and anxiety and at first I told them no I won’t take any meds but I thought to myself apparently I’m not strong enough to do it on my own so I finally agreed to give the meds a try , it takes at least a week maybe to notice any affects much less side affects and as it has already been mentioned you may feel a little more depressed and or anxious maybe fatigue nausea etc... but let your doctor know if something doesn’t feel right , I was taking fluoxetine for depression and hydroxazine for anxiety but I noticed I couldn’t sleep because my legs would twitch at night really bad so I stopped taking the hydroxazine and it settled down so I told my doctor and he took me off of them completely then gave me trazadone to help me sleep which I take as needed when I have trouble falling asleep anyway the depression meds do take the edge off for sure so the can help but unfortunately it’s different for everyone so all you can do is give them a try and see how they affect you if you don’t like it tell your doc and maybe he can find something else for you , just keep your doctor updated on what’s going on and allow him to work with you to help find a solution.
