Do you think that violent imagery in things like videogames, tv and movies actually can influence people to harm?

Do you think those who are dangerous were always gonna harm someone anyway and tv/games is an excuse?
I think it's an excuse. After the Columbine school shootings people blamed Marilyn Manson's music. He had a quote about it I agree with...

"If your kid listens to my songs, then shoots up a school, he obviously had bigger issues than his taste in music."
I had this conversation with psychologist one time. She told me that in her opinion it depended on the person. That if they were already experiencing mental disturbances its possible it could influence them. But it would have no real affect on a healthy minded individual. I agree with her.

There has been studies that show game's have and movie's have. That is why they put a grade on all game's and movie's
I think they can alter some weak minds

Much like the force, it only works on the weak and simple minded.

People were (and are) incredibly violent, before tv ever existed, so that pretty much shoots the "Bugs Bunny made me do it" defense right in the ass.

Some claim it desensitizes them. I'm not sure I agree. I think it depends more on the person than the images they see. Almost all play the games watch TV and movies and live out completely normal peaceful lives.
