When you are fasting for anyone, you don't eat AT ALL. You drink water or maybe tea. The only exception would be medical reasons, when you are taking medicine that has to be taken with food (my sister-in-law takes one type of these) or one small meal to keep up your strength.

@Llort fasting is a spiritual discipline. It is not something you do everyday. The longest I have done it would be for 3 days where I concentrated on prayer. The way I do it I don't eat anything I just drink water.
