Yeah I've read the Lancashire thing somewhere. I think my great grandad was a miner so that would make sense.
GlassDog · 46-50, M
@Zaphod75 None of my great-grandma's brothers were miners so if we're related, it's probably quite distant.
Zaphod75 · 46-50, T
Yeah probably I think its a fairly common name around that part of the UK anyway.

SW-User
Nope, pretty normal, widely known because of a famous ex president of USA

@GlassDog thank you :-)

Nobody I ever meet has ever met anyone else with the same surname (apart from my immediate family) and I always have to spell it for people on the phone.
Harlow · 31-35, F
No but a teacher I had was Mr.Seasick lol
SweetMae · 70-79, F
It is French and fairly common.
Dan193 · 31-35, M
In a way, because it's another regular name, so I had occasions when people would call me by my surname thinking that's my first name. Also the principal of my high school, his surname was Dan, so many though we were related.

Not very common. Very rare outside of North Carolina, Virginia and Missouri

I have a cool surname. 😊. If I had taken my fathers surname it would have been Sjöberg
Deadcutie · 18-21, F
Actually I do. There are only about 30 Scottish clan names that start with a G. Mine is one of them
gmatthewb · 51-55, M
Not that I am aware of. Some might find it weird depending upon their culture though.
summersong · F
My maiden name is. My married name (which I still use) is common.

DunningKruger · 61-69, M
Kind of. People always ask me if I'm a real doctor.
SW-User
My maiden surname was but not my married one.
MissMoon · 26-30, F

SW-User
@SW-User Looool, that too
Nah, it's rather generic.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
No. It's way too common. 😑
DragonFruit · 61-69, M

Pretty normal for a Hispanic.
SW-User
@Rokasu Tbh, I've only ever met one person with your last name (it was you), but i agree. It seems pretty normal.
Rokasu · 36-40, M
@SW-User You should look up the meaning of it. Pretty silly.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
Probably to your kind
SW-User
@Uncle Yep. ☺️
SW-User
@MartinTheFirst I'm pretty shit at names, tbh
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M

ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F

SW-User

ImRileyTheDog · 22-25, F
@SW-User I guess it can be but it's not meant to be
DDonde · 31-35, M
It's uncommon in the US, but not completely unheard of.
Straylight · 31-35, F
It's all French and shit. It even begins with a Le.
