Should I be worried about losing my hair?

My hair has been receding since I was 19. I never tried to cover it up, and was never tempted to do the Trump thing.

And frankly, it never particularly bothered me. I've got a lot (a lot) of other insecurities, including physical ones, but that one never bothered me.

And yet, a lot of people point it out. Children, my parents, colleagues all seem to remark upon it in subtle and not so subtle ways. I'm not sure why.

And it puts a man at a disadvantage with women: it signals a loss of virility, although I feel as virile as ever.

It's funny... it is the one thing I'm not self-conscious about... and the world is pretty aggressive at signaling to me that I really should be.

And I don't want to be. But I'm also not up to fighting the world, at least not on this battlefield.

You shouldn't identify yourself by how many females you attract or what people would think. Shave it off and build a good career and if possible a good physique. There are a lot of bald men who are successful in every field.

Good point. There is an element of "putting me in my place".

Except for the children... they are genuinely curious as to what's wrong with me ...

@WoodyAq Children are still learning. They don't know better. They speak based on what they learn at home and they learn from their grown up parents.

@SoulAsylum I grew up in a ghetto place in Cali, but now I have a great job and I'm living in different country. People who fuck things up everyday, still bring it up from time to time. I have no arrest records, never did anything to break the law and even pay more taxes than those who judge me . Some people are just fucked up, they get a sense of victory and feel good about their sad lives when they demean you in anyway. That's why I just expect nothing from them. I have that one person with me and she never judges me for anything and that's what matters the most to me.

Signals a loss of virility?

Guys tend to go bald because of vast amounts of testosterone!

That's like the virility hormone for men, lol.

Just shave it 😊

@Quizzical I keep it close cropped, and have shaved it on occasions.

Just shave it off. You don’t need people in your life who think less of you because you are bald. Let them deal with each other instead.
