@basilfawlty89 I meant the general public shouldn't be allowed to have guns freely. A license and a background check is the right way to go but in America every Tom dick and harry owns a gun
@SW-User then we're in agreement. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a far right nutjob, the opposite, I'm far left, and that's why the idea of a totally disarmed proletariat scares me.
I wholly agree on background checks and licenses, pardon me misunderstanding.
I'm a 72 year old disabled combat veteran and long ago i concluded that here in America,we've become, and are,a very sick society. We used to communicate face to face, now we simply text one another across the room, dinner or restaurant table. We used to worship God,now we've turned our backs to Him.Our motto of "In God we trust" has been replaced by "See something, say something." Long, long ago,America led the world in many things, now we lead the world in only four:1) number of people incarcerated per capita.2) Number of adults that believe in Angels.3) Defense spending.4) Obesity. This evil, tragic bank shooting is yet another symptom of a problem within the human heart that requires each of us to take a fierce moral inventory;change begins within my friends. And so it goes.
@wildbill83 We have all kinds of controls and insurances requirements on cars and yet I have ever seen my car leave the garage by itself and run somebody over so what the difference.
@MasterLee says the one living in the past, you don't get it you hold onto the past it is you that is slow. I'll give you a lifetime to comprehend this.
how about, since your father was crazy, lets just assume you have a higher chance/hereditary disposition of becoming crazy yourself and disallow you to purchase a firearm?
or, Since crazy apparently runs in your family, lets disallow you to drive a car, operate heavy machinery, carry a pocket knife, vote, use the Internet, etc.
After all, you might snap one day and turn violent, so lets eliminate any chance that you may inflict harm on others 😅
@wildbill83 Here you are again making assumptions. It is people with your attitude, refusing to compromise in the slightest that are a contributing factor to the problem.
The thing is, there just isn’t enough shooting fatalities to effect change. Death by firearms isn’t even on the top 10 cause of deaths. , neither are homicides in general.... There are more people who die from falls, car accidents, drugs, poisoning alcohol,
The nut cases in the US want to build a wall to keep out the terrorist when the terrorist we should be worried about is the new ones here called the Evangelical Christian Right. They have committed almost all terrorist killings for last 5 years. All the killers have been white conservative christian American NRA members and most were also white supremacist.
Fun fact! 100% of rapes could be eliminated if we chopped off the manly parts! Yep tis true. Lets go ahead and see how that works! Probably about the same as gun control!
